Alleged attacker's children in car during Medina road rage stabbing

Police say children witnessed a horrific road rage attack in Medina that saw a man allegedly stabbed in the neck.

The victim was driving a black Suzuki Swift around 6.50pm on Wednesday when he noticed a white Mitsubishi Triton ute following close behind him.

The driver of the Swift then pulled over on Brownell Crescent to let the ute behind him pass.

It's alleged the ute then did a U-turn and rammed the Swift before an altercation broke out between the drivers.

During the altercation, the 21-year-old driver of the Swift suffered a large stab wound to his neck and other serious injuries.

He was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.

Senior Sergeant Andy Elliot said there were children in the ute at the time.

"It's extremely concerning that you would engage in this behaviour, first of all, but to have children witness this … you don't want these behaviours to be generational and passed on," he said.

"People have the right to be feel safe and shouldn't be subjected to this trauma."

On Thursday, police arrested a 29-year-old man at a home in Medina.

He's been charged with grievous bodily harm, being armed in a way to cause fear, reckless driving and no authority to drive.

The Armadale man will appear in the Rockingham Magistrates Court on Friday, February 10.
