Community members are invited to come and enjoy the City of Rockingham’s Australia Day celebrations at Churchill Park on the Rockingham Foreshore on Thursday, January 26.
Running from 5pm – 8.45pm, the event will be headlined by a fireworks display at 8.30pm.
Live entertainment and local talent including our Breakthrough Music Competition performers, The Godlemans, PROOF and What You Need – INXS Tribute will be performing on stage.
There will also be free children’s activities, roaming performers, a sensory-friendly chill-out zone and food vans.
City of Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin encouraged community members to join in the celebrations at Rockingham Foreshore.
“Our annual Australia Day celebration is one of the most popular events on the City’s Summer Series calendar, and a large number of residents often take advantage of the opportunity to celebrate everything that’s great about our country with a stunning fireworks display,” Mayor Hamblin said.
In addition to celebrations at the foreshore, the City will also host a citizenship ceremony at the Gary Holland Community Centre on Australia Day.
The City will also announce the winners of the Community Citizen of the Year Awards for 2023.
For the celebration event limited parking will be available at the Village Green from 4.30pm until full.
Attendees can also catch the 555 bus from Rockingham Station, which will be running every 15 minutes between 4pm – 9.15pm for the event.
