A field of nine candidates will contest the Rockingham by-election on July 29.
The candidates are Magenta Marshall for the WA Labor Party, Peter Hudson for the Liberal Party, independents Hayley Edwards, Peter Dunne and Clive Galletly, Rae Cottom for the Legalise Cannabis Western Australia Party, Madeleine De Jong for the Greens, Mike Crichton for the Australian Christians and Janetia Knapp for the Western Australia Party.
Eligible Rockingham residents will be able to vote at polling places on July 29.
There will also be early voting locations in the Rockingham area and Perth city centre from July 12 and applications for postal votes are now open.
“As with all State elections, it’s compulsory for eligible electors to vote in the Rockingham by-election and there are a range of voting options to help people elect their new local member,” WA Electoral Commissioner Robert Kennedy said.
“You can vote in-person on polling day on Saturday 29 July. If you can’t attend on polling day, or choose not to, you can cast an early vote in person from 12 July or apply for a postal vote.”
