A community fundraiser has been launched to help support the family of a young boy who was hit by a car in a horror driveway accident in Karnup.
Seven-year-old Hudzon suffered critical injuries after he was struck by a Hyundai Tuscon in the driveway of a family home on Isabelline Terrace on November 15.
His parent was believed to have been behind the wheel at the time.
A GoFundMe page has since been created to help the family financially.
"Hi my name is Elle and I am trying to raise some funds to help a beautiful mother and her son after a freak accident in the driveway turned their world upside down," GoFundMe organiser Elle Wilson wrote.
"Hudzon was admitted to hospital in a critical condition and had to leave his 2 brothers and sister with a neighbour so mum could be by his side.
"His mother had no family here and was forced to ask her own mother in VIC to fly over using her own funds and help with the kids.
"Hudzon’s amazing mum has not left his side and is staying at the hospital and having to pay for her own food and necessities as well as making sure that her other children are well cared for and trying to afford transportation for them to visit her and their brother.
"Hudzon has now undergone many surgeries and is finally on his way to recovery but has a long journey ahead of him which will involve many trips back and forward to the hospital.
"I am hoping to raise some money to reimburse the grandmother and also to help give this family an amazing Christmas as all the expenses have left them short and they deserve something to celebrate after such a tragic incident."
