COVID-19 vaccination bookings are now open for five to 11-year-olds.

Children in that age bracket will be able to receive a COVID-19 jab from January 10, 2022 at State-run clinics, GP's and pharmacies. 

Parents can book their child in at State-run clinics via the VaccinateWA website.

The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) has recommended a smaller dose of the Pfizer vaccine for children aged five to 11.

The paediatric Pfizer vaccine will be administered in two doses, with the recommended interval between first and second dose being eight weeks.

"I urge parents with children aged 5 to 11 to get them vaccinated against COVID-19 to avoid serious illness from the Omicron variant," Premier Mark McGowan said.

"The vaccine is the safest and most effective way to protect your child.

"Children, unvaccinated and partially vaccinated people are likely to be more susceptible to the impacts of the latest variant of concern.

"Please don't delay, book your children in today - we need to get our families protected ahead of the borders easing on February 5."
