Daughter of Port Kennedy hit-and-run victim pleads for offenders to hand themselves in

The daughter of a Port Kennedy hit-and-run victim is pleading for the two offenders to hand themselves in.

The men broke into Andy McCall's home on Montpellier Mews around 5.45am on April 3, stealing the keys to his Isuzu D-Max ute which was parked in the driveway.

The 59-year-old tried to stop the thieves stealing his car, but was run over in the process.

The vehicle was later found abandoned in bushland in Medina.

Mr McCall's daughter Chelsea said her her dad remains in hospital.

“He’s actually sustained quite serious injuries, including a broken neck, broken back, 11 broken ribs, and a minor bleed on the brain," she said.

“These are the injuries that will follow for the rest of his life.”

Ms McCall said it has been a tough year after her mum died of breast cancer last year.

"I lost my mum seven months ago, so it’s just hard to get used to our new reality without my mum, but now the new reality of this incident . . . it’s just shaken us to our core,” Ms McCall said.

The 29-year-old is urging the offenders to come forward.

“I think it would just give him that sense of peace knowing that these people have been brought to justice, and just knowing for the community that my dad has been given the justice that he deserves.

“My message (to the offenders) would be to just have a heart and to come to your senses . . . just think about how what you’re actually doing can impact a whole range of people, not just that one person.”
