A driver has been charged over an horrific crash in the Perth CBD that claimed the life of a 71-year-old man.
Around 6.25pm on Friday, a Land Rover sedan was travelling south on Pier Street when it mounted the footpath near Murray Street and struck a parked Toyota Corolla.
The momentum pushed the Corolla into a group of diners at a restaurant, hitting several of them.
A 71-year-old man died from his injuries at the scene.
Three other pedestrians, two men in their 20s and a man in his 40s, were taken to hospital by ambulance.
The driver of the Land Rover, a 60-year-old man from Walebing, has been charged with dangerous driving causing death and no authority to drive (suspended).
He is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today.
