The Mandurah Police District had the highest number of domestic violence reports across the Perth metropolitan area in the last financial year.
According to the latest WA Police crime statistics, there were 3924 reports of family violence offences in the district between July 2024 and June 2025, which equates to nearly 11 assaults each day.
The data also revealed there was 847 reports of threatening behaviour and 200 reports of possessing a weapon to cause fear towards a family member.
The Mandurah Police District encompasses Kwinana, Baldivis, Rockingham, Mandurah, Pinjarra and Dwellingup areas.
Across the State, there were 35,806 reports of family and domestic violence in the 2024-25 financial year, a 10-year high.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Police Minister Reece Whitby said more and more people are reporting domestic violence offences to police.
“When you engage in these issues, when you promote these issues, when you ask for victims to come forward, inevitably, you’re going to have more reporting of incidents," he said.
“This is a consequence of a community that is more aware and alert to this issue.
“We’ve changed as a community, we accept the truth that family domestic violence is unacceptable and as a consequence, each year, more people are reporting, police are engaging more resources to investigate these issues."
