Former Member for Rockingham Mike Barnett has passed away aged 77.
Mr Barnett served as Rockingham's MP from 1974 to 1996 and was Speaker of the Legislative Assembly from 1986 to 1993.
He died peacefully on December 29, 2023 after a battle with dementia.
According to an obituary in The West Australian, Mr Barnett's wishes were for "no funeral and for his ashes to be scattered amongst his beloved ocean".
