A veterinarian, who used to work at Lark Hill Vets in Port Kennedy, has been released from kidnappers in Africa after three days in captivity.
Dr Jerome Hugonot, a French-Australian, was abducted in Chad on Friday, according to Chadian government authorities.
It's understood he was working at a conservation park near the Sudan border when he was taken.
Chad interim President Mahamat Idriss Deby announced Dr Hugonot's release via Twitter on Sunday.
"I am delighted with this happy ending," Mr Deby said.
It is unknown how Dr Hugonot was rescued from his kidnappers.
He migrated to Australia from France in 2002 and has worked in several states including in Western Australia where he was a veterinarian at Lark Hill Vets in Port Kennedy and at Murray Veterinary Services in Coolup.
