The Shire of Murray is encouraging community and sporting groups, non-profit organisations and individuals to apply to the Shire’s grants and funding programs.
Funding is available for initiatives that meet community needs and align with the Shire’s Council Plan and strategic priorities. Three funding streams are available including, the Community Facility Fund, Community Assistance Partnership Fund, and the Community Sponsorship Fund.
Through the Community Facility Fund, up to $20,000 is available to assist Murray not-for-profit organisations to upgrade, extend or construct well-planned sport, recreation and community facilities that contribute to a vibrant, inclusive and healthy Murray.
Applications are open now and close August 4, 2025.
The Community Assistance Partnership Fund is a partnership between Alcoa and the Shire of Murray providing up to $3000 to Murray not-for-profit organisations to develop a range of community-focussed projects.
Applications open August 1 and close September 30, 2025.
Through the Community Sponsorship Fund, up to $300 is available for individuals and sporting clubs to support travel or accommodation expenses incurred in representing their sport, recreation or academic field either individually or as a team at state, national or international level.
Applications are open now and close at the end of the financial year or when funding allocation is expended.
Shire President Douglas McLarty emphasised the importance of offering community funding opportunities to foster community vibrancy.
“The Shire is proud to support local not-for-profit organisations, associations and groups - they are integral contributors to the local community and play an important role in enhancing and bolstering community spirit and pride,” President McLarty said.
“Providing financial assistance helps build and strengthen organisational capacity, deliver initiatives to benefit the community or services to contribute to the vibrancy, inclusivity and health of the Murray community."
