Giant puppets, illuminated installations to descend on Baldivis Sports Complex

A unique mix of giant puppets, illuminated installations and imaginative experiences for all ages is coming to the Baldivis Sports Complex on Saturday, April 18.

This year’s event invites visitors to step into a world where puppetry, nature and imagination come together, with three large-scale installations to explore.

Dive beneath the waves with The Whale, a majestic moving ocean giant surrounded by sea life and swirling myth.

Back on land, take hold of the ropes in String Symphony and help bring a giant puppet to life.

Then wander through The Hive, an interactive journey revealing the secret life of bees and pollination.

Mayor Lorna Buchan said the event is one of the City’s most popular family‑friendly traditions.

“Performance in the Park brings the community together. We’re thrilled to introduce a new format that invites families to discover, create and connect in new and memorable ways,” Mayor Buchan said.

“Whether you're helping bring a giant puppet to life or strolling through an enormous beehive, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.”

The event kicks off from 4.30pm, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early to explore, play and get swept up in the magic.
