A 44-year-old man has been arrested over an alleged police pursuit that started in Hillman and ended in Baldivis overnight.
Around 12.15am, police spotted a Mitsubishi 380 sedan fail to stop at a red arrow at traffic lights on Ennis Avenue in Hillman.
The driver allegedly took off when police activated their lights and sirens.
It's alleged the man led police on a chase through Hillman, Rockingham and Medina before he dumped the car on Mundijong Road near St Albans Road in Baldivis.
He then allegedly jumped the fence of the Alcoa Wellard Wetlands and hid in neck deep water.
The man eventually surrendered after he was challenged by a police dog.
The Narrogin man has been charged with a string of offences including stealing, aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm, reckless driving to escape pursuit, failing to stop and no authority to drive.
He will appear in the Rockingham Magistrates Court today.
