Mandurah and Rockingham GP clinics now offering coronavirus vaccines to eligible locals

A number of Mandurah and Rockingham GP clinics are now providing coronavirus vaccinations as the next phase of the national roll-out begins today.

About 6 million Australians are eligible to receive their first doses as part of phase 1B.

This includes people aged over 70, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders aged 55 and over, those with chronic illnesses and frontline healthcare workers.

87 clinics across WA including 10 in Rockingham and Mandurah are offering the AstraZeneca vaccine.

These include: 

• Mandurah Medical Centre

• The Bridge Family Practice and Skin Clinic

• Waikiki GP Super Clinic

• Rockingham Family Practice

• Palm Springs Medical Centre, Warnbro

• Rockingham Maternity & Family Practice

• Jupiter Health, Lakelands

• Rockingham Medical Centre

• Rockingham City Family Practice

• Shalom Medical Centre, Mandurah

According to the WA Health Department, to date, a total of 32,115 Western Australians have been vaccinated.

Deputy Chief Medical Officer Michael Kidd has urged people to be patient.

“Obviously we won’t be able to vaccinate all six million people (on Monday), or over the coming week, so please be patient,” he said.

“At the moment, some general practices will only receive 50 doses a week and they will be prioritising their most elderly and most unwell patients.”
