Mandurah basketball legend Casey Mihovilovich announced as City's new CEO

Mandurah basketball legend Casey Mihovilovich will become the City of Mandurah's next Chief Executive Officer.

The news comes following an extensive recruitment process over the past few months and a unanimous vote by Council at Tuesday's meeting.

Casey has held the position of Director of Business Services with the City since 2019 and previously held senior positions at the City of Kwinana and Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale.

"In announcing Casey as the incoming CEO, Council could not be more confident that we have selected the very best person to lead our administration into the future," Mayor Rhys Williams said.

Casey is also well known in the WA basketball community, playing over 500 games for the Mandurah Magic in the SBL and NBL1 West competitions.

She is currently playing her 27th season with the Mandurah Magic this year.

"Widely known as one of WA’s greatest state league basketballers, Casey conducts her professional role with the same exemplary work ethic and team-based approach as she does on the court. She is influential, decisive, collaborative, strategic and results-driven and it is a privilege to appoint such an outstanding person to this important role," Mayor Williams said.

Casey will be just the third person to hold the title of CEO at the City of Mandurah with outgoing Mark Newman serving 20 years in the role and other 10 in senior management positions at the City.

Casey will step into the role in July.
