Mandurah boat crash: Kylie Bazzo found

Police have recovered the body of 52-year-old Kylie Bazzo following a horror boat crash in the Mandurah estuary at the weekend.

WA Police issued a statement on Monday morning saying the mother-of-two's body was found near Creery Island around 7pm on Sunday.

"The woman’s family members have been notified. The investigation into the cause of the boat crash is continuing," a WA Police spokesperson said.

Four people were onboard a 5.5 metre vessel around 10pm on Saturday night when they struck a navigation marker.

Debbie Burdon, 54, tragically died at the scene, while her friend Kylie Bazzo, 52, mother of West Coast Eagles recruit Rhett Bazzo, was thrown into the water.

Ms Bazzo's body was not found until Sunday night.

Mrs Burdon's husband, John Burdon, who police believe was driving the boat at the time, suffered serious injuries.

He remains in Royal Perth Hospital in a stable condition.

Another man, aged 54, was not injured in the crash.

Witnesses told 9News, the boat had no navigation lights turned on.

"I yelled out and said hey mate you've got no lights on, you're going into the dark, you need to turn your nav lights on," one woman said.

"He accelerated at a great pace and within five seconds the almighty bang," another witness told 9News.

At this stage no charges have been laid.

The investigation is ongoing.
