Mandurah Cricket Club will celebrate their 100th anniversary this weekend, with one player going the extra mile, hoping to break a world record on the day.
Brendan Ingle will attempt to break the world record for the longest run-up to a bowl in a cricket match during their E-grade clash with Warnbro on Saturday, February 18.
The 46-year-old will start the 7.47km run-up from his house in Dudley Park, making his way to the cricket pitch at Meadow Springs Reserve for a 1pm delivery.
"I'll leave from my house in Dudley Park, make my way across the foreshore, down past the beach and then cut across to the Meadow Springs Sporting Facility," Mr Ingle said.
"It's going to be hot so I'm a bit nervous."

Mr Ingle said for it to be verified as a Guiness World Record there are a few things that need to happen.
"You have to film the whole thing so I've actually hired a gopher to strap a Go-Pro to," he said.
"We've also got to have a couple of independent people watch it and you've got to have the scorers and umpires sign statements and you have to have a surveyor to sign off the distance as well."
The current record of 7.17km was set by Matthew Hunt in England on April 24, 2022.
Mr Ingle is also raising money for the Australian Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
A special event in celebration of Mandurah Cricket Club's 100th anniversary will also be held at the Meadow Springs Sports Facility on Saturday afternoon for past and present players.
