A 24-year-old man has been charged with 13 offences following two incidents in Mandurah and Baldivis.
Police were alerted to a red Ford Falcon allegedly displaying stolen number plates in the Mandurah area around midday on Monday, August 28.
Mandurah Detectives located the car at a service station on Pinjarra Road a short time later.
Police say the driver sped off after a detective opened the drivers-side door, hitting an officer and police vehicle as it left the scene.
The officer only suffered minor injuries and the vehicle obtained minimal damage.
The driver then sped through a nearby shopping centre car park and struck another vehicle before leaving the scene.
Police suspended the chase shortly after due to safety concerns.
The 24-year-old man was later arrested at a home on Kingdon Street around 4.30pm.
Following his arrest, Police allege the man covered a camera in the back of the police vehicle while being transported to the Perth Watch House.
Police say they stopped in Baldivis to check on the man when he became violent and tried to escape custody.
It is further alleged that the 24-year-old bit two female officers on the hand as he was being restrained.
He has been charged with 13 offences including two counts of assaulting a police officer, reckless driving to escape pursuit, attempt to escape lawful custody, and three counts of no authority to drive.
The Mandurah man is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today, August 29.
