The State Government has announced the mask mandate for Perth and Peel residents will be lifted from 6pm on Friday, January 7.
Masks will only be required in vulnerable settings like hospitals, aged and disability care, on public transport and in taxis and rideshare vehicles.
The news comes after WA recorded no new local cases on Friday.
“While it is fantastic to be in a position to safely ease mask wearing requirements tonight, we are not out of the woods yet," Acting Premier Roger Cook said.
Proof of vaccinations requirements will remain for venues and events including nightclubs, music festivals and major events over 500 people, pubs and taverns with a capacity of more than 500 people or licensed venues that are open after midnight, events with an occasional liquor licence and the Crown gaming floor.
“This requirement means that everyone in attendance or at work in these settings is safer," Mr Cook said.
The State Government will be launching a new mobile app next week to integrate proof of vaccination with SafeWA check-ins.
Western Australians are urged to continue using SafeWA or registering their contact details at businesses and venues where contact registers are mandatory.
