A 39-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman have been charged with a string of drug and firearm offences after police raided their Waikiki home.
Gang Crime Squad detectives seized a number of items during the search on September 12 including a 12-guage Mossberg bolt action shotgun, a homemade pistol capable of firing shotgun shells, two gel blasters, several rounds of ammunition, an electric chick weapon, 600 grams of cannabis and various amounts of steroids.
Police allege the shotgun was stolen during a burglary in Coodanup in June 2023.
The 39-year-old man, who is a patched Mongrel Mob member and the 33-year-old woman, both from Waikiki, are next due to appear before the Rockingham Magistrates Court on September 20 and October 11, respectively.
Detective Senior Sergeant Anthony Thompson, Officer in Charge of the Gang Crime Squad, said the seizure of these firearms would contribute overall to community safety.
“We are focused on taking firearms out of the hands of gang members and putting these serious offenders before the Courts to be accountable for their actions,” Detective Senior Sergeant Thompson said.
“Every unlawful firearm we seize is one step closer to making the community safer.”
