A person has been bitten by a shark off Esperance.
The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) said a female was on a flotation device about 200m offshore at Kelp Beds, Wylie Bay when she was attacked around 11.55am on Sunday.
Witnesses reported the incident and Kelp Beds beach has since been closed.
The condition of the victim is unknown, but it is understood she was taken to hospital.
Kelp Beds is the same surf break where 17-year-old Singleton girl, Laeticia Brouwer, lost her life after being mauled by a shark in 2017.
