Police seek information over distressed child at Port Kennedy bus stop

UPDATE: The boy has been identified and he is now back home safe with his family.

Police are looking for a boy who was reported as looking distressed at a bus stop in Port Kennedy.

The boy, believed to be around 10-years-old, was last seen at the bus stop on Warnbro Sound Avenue, near the entrance to the Lark Hill Sporting Complex around 8.30am on Sunday.

"A member of the public stopped to check on him, however their interaction appeared to cause more distress and they moved away from him. It is not known if the boy is able to communicate with others," a WA Police spokesperson said.

"Police attended the scene under emergency conditions, however upon arrival the attending officers could not locate anyone matching the boy’s description."

The boy was wearing a light brown and white striped shirt and dark blue shorts (possibly pyjamas).

Anyone who sees a boy matching this description in the Port Kennedy or surrounding areas is asked to phone police on 131 444.

Police would like to hear from any families who believe this boy may be their child and who have since had him return home.
