Police warning issued to Mandurah, Rockingham motorbike sellers after spate of burglaries

Mandurah and Rockingham Detectives are warning locals to take extra precautions when advertising motorcycles or dirt bikes online.

It comes after a number of reported burglaries in the area after residents gave out their home address to people they thought were buyers, but instead were thieves.

Police are advising anyone who is selling motorbikes or other high-value items online to not disclose their address or personal details to anyone responding to the ad, look into the account of the person they are communicating with to ensure they are legitimate and make sure the motorbike is kept out of sight and in a secure location at all times

If you are meeting a potential buyer in person, police advise you to choose a safe public place where there is good lighting and CCTV cameras and always take someone else with you and be vigilant when returning home and making sure you are not being followed.
