The RAC rescue helicopter has been sent to a surfing accident near Margaret River.
Rescue crews were called to the scene at the river mouth near Rivermouth Road in Prevelley just before 10.30am on Monday.
Margaret River SES volunteers have also been called in to assist.
A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said the patient is a male.
