Resurfacing works set to start on Mandurah Road in Baldivis

Resurfacing works on a section of Mandurah Road in Baldivis will get underway from Sunday, November 28.

The works will be carried out on Mandurah Road between Pike Road and Outridge Road, which covers about 2km.

Due to the high number of vehicles using the road during the day, the City will be carrying out works at night between 7pm and 5am to minimise disruption to road users.

The project is anticipated to be completed by Sunday, December 5 and will cost about $1 million.

The City has been successful in securing grant funding from Main Roads WA’s Metropolitan Regional Roads Group funding program to cover two-thirds of the project cost.

 City of Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin said the Mandurah Road Rehabilitation project was a key part of the City’s asset management activities. 

“The resurfacing of Mandurah Road between Pike Road and Outridge Road in Baldivis is one of the City’s major road rehabilitation projects for 2021/2022, and will ensure that a busy part of the City’s road network is maintained to a standard level of service that ensures safety and comfort for all road users,” Mayor Hamblin said.

“During the work traffic may be subject to detours, however, access will be provided to local traffic at all times. Where possible, please consider alternate travel routes to avoid any potential delays.

“The City thanks community members in advance for their patience and understanding.”
