RSPCA investigate mutilation of animals in South West

RSPCA WA is investigating the mutilation of animals in the South West.

"This week, a mutilated kangaroo was found cable-tied upside-down to a tree, with its head detached and placed on its rear end," a RSPCA WA Facebook post read.

"The kangaroo was found by a local resident who was walking their dog on the Wallcliffe track, near Wallcliffe Rd and Kevill Rd East in Margaret River."

In another incident reported last week, a walker in Donnybrook came across the mutilated corpse of a boar left on a path.

Its skin had been removed and draped over a discarded mattress nearby.

The walker also saw the body of deceased kangaroo in the same area.

Anyone who has any information about either of these incidents is asked to report it to the RSPCA Cruelty Hotline on 1300 CRUELTY (278 358).

Animal cruelty is a serious criminal offence and carries penalties of a fine of up to $50,000 and imprisonment for up to 5 years.
