The Shire of Waroona has announced the appointment of Mr Mark Goodlet to the role of Chief Executive Officer following his endorsement at the October ordinary council meeting.
Shire President Councillor Mike Walmsley said he warmly welcomes Mark to the organisation and is looking forward to working with Mark on the many exciting projects and developments that are currently in the pipeline.
“Mark brings to Council a wealth of Local Government experience through his engineering qualifications and leadership skills acquired through years as a director and then as CEO at two metropolitan councils. The recruitment process was blessed with high calibre applicants for the position and were particularly drawn to Mark’s skills and character during our interviews. I am very confident Mark will form a strong bond with our Councillors, community and staff and we look forward to him embedding his expertise and management into our organisation”.
Councillor Walmsley also paid tribute to out going CEO Mr Dean Unsworth.
“Dean has brought tremendous energy and enthusiasm to our community. Dean’s commitment to the job is unwavering and he truly has the Shire at the heart of decision making. Dean will return to his role as full time CEO at Murray and we can still rely on his support and the good relationship that exists with our neighbour. We thank him sincerely for his service and know that he leaves our Council in a great position”.
