Silver Sands machete attack accused appear in court

Two men and a woman have appeared in court over an alleged brutal machete attack at a Silver Sands pub.

Ryan Casson, Tyron Fry and Brittany Boothman fronted the Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday where details of the alleged assault were revealed.

The West reports, Ms Boothman, who was an ex staff member of the Silver Sands Tavern, was refused entry to a private wake at the venue around 10.30pm on Thursday.

The court heard the 24-year-old left the tavern before returning with Mr Casson and Mr Fry.

They then allegedly waited for the wake to finish before attacking three mourners in the car park.

Mr Fry is alleged to have concealed a machete in his pants.

He allegedly began waving it around before striking a 39-year-old man.

Mr Casson allegedly intervened in the scuffle between the victim and Mr Fry.

When the victim was on the ground Mr Casson then allegedly held him down while Mr Fry slashed him in the head with the knife.

Mr Casson then allegedly continued to punch the 39-year-old while Mr Fry struck a 32-year-old man with the machete when he tried to help the victim.

The court heard Mr Fry also allegedly approached a 60-year-old man and hit him in the head with the weapon.

The trio then fled the scene.

The West reports, the alleged incident was captured on good quality CCTV and the machete was recovered by police "covered in blood and hair" at Mr Fry's friend house.

The three alleged victims suffered horrific injuries including large gashes to their faces.

The top of one of the victim's finger was also allegedly severed in the attack.

Mr Casson's application for bail was refused while Mr Fry and Ms Boothman did not apply for bail.

The trio will appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court later this week.
