A Smoke Alert has been issued for people travelling along Kwinana Freeway and surrounding areas in the eastern part of Barragup, western part of Nambeelup and southern part of Stake Hill.
• The smoke is the result of a fire burning in the area.
• The smoke is expected to clear over the coming days.
WHAT TO DO:
• Shut doors and windows and turn off air-conditioners.
• If driving through the area, turn on headlights and drive slowly. If you cannot see clearly, pull over to the left, keep your headlights and hazard lights on, and wait until the smoke clears.
• People with asthma and pre-existing respiratory or cardiovascular illnesses should follow their pre-prepared treatment plan.
• If affected by smoke, contact your doctor or call Health Direct on 1800 022 222.
• Watch for emergency services personnel and follow their directions.
