Thieves target training vehicles at Falcon Volunteer Fire and Rescue

Thieves have broken into a local fire station stealing parts from vehicles used for training.

Falcon Volunteer Fire and Rescue said the offenders cut through their rear fencing over the past week, taking wheels and parts from donated vehicles that they use for Road Crash Rescue training.

"These vehicles are crucial for Road Crash Rescue (RCR) training, which prepares our volunteers to safely and quickly extricate casualties during real emergencies," Falcon Volunteer Fire and Rescue said in a Facebook post.

"This behaviour not only undermines our training efforts but also raises concerns for the safety of private vehicles parked on-site while our crews are out responding to incidents.

"It’s disheartening that some members of the community believe it’s acceptable to break in and take what is not theirs. As a result, we’ve had to secure our station gates at all times, which unfortunately delays our emergency response."

Falcon Volunteer Fire and Rescue are now in the process of upgrading their security systems.
