WA families urged to claim student assistance payment before time runs out

Western Australian families are being urged to claim the WA Student Assistance Payment with only four days remaining until the cut-off date.

More than $67 million has already been distributed since the claims period opened on April 15.

But about 29 per cent of eligible families are yet to claim the payment, which ends on Friday, June 28.

Families can receive $250 for every secondary school student and $150 for primary and kindergarten students.

“These payments are helping to purchase new school shoes, uniforms, books, lunches and other essentials right across the state," Premier Roger Cook said.
 
“There is still plenty of time for families to claim their payments, but we will have more to say soon about how we will make sure any leftover funds are put back into the pockets of WA families.”

Claims can be lodged through the ServiceWA app, submitted online or via post.
