A 36-year-old man has been charged after allegedly hitting a police officer in Warnbro.
The Senior Constable was conducting traffic duties on Holcombe Road near the intersection of Currie Street around 6.10pm on Wednesday when he tried to stop the accused who was riding a motorcycle.
It's alleged the motorcyclist struck the officer and sped off.
The officer suffered serious injuries and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.
A 36-year-old man from Warnbro has been charged with aggravated dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, failing to stop and render assistance, failing to report an incident and no authority to drive.
He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today.
