Two cousins have survived a high-speed jet boat crash in Baldivis.
Dylan Schmidt and his 16-year-old cousin Jayden Myers were in the boat when it crashed at 100km/h, flipping and smashing into a barrier at the Jet Sprint Park on Saturday night.
Luckily the pair escaped with minor injuries, Dylan suffering a broken nose.
“As soon as I got out, blood everywhere just streaming out my nose,” Dylan told 7NEWS.
“It was overwhelming how many people came - all the safety crew, ambulance and everyone - to make sure we were all right,” Jayden added.
The cousins said they were thankful for their helmets and other safety gear on the boat.
“If we weren’t wearing the protection we were wearing we wouldn’t be here talking today,” Schmidt said.
“It could’ve been so much worse but the safety gear nowadays is absolutely insane,” Jayden said.
It was the third crash at the park this year but club president Jason Furnell said no one had been seriously injured.
“The boats have the roll cage, the seats, the harness, so everyone’s buckled in nice and tight, it’s pretty close to every other motorsport standard,” he told 7NEWS.
“They are designed to take a hit and unfortunately sometimes they can be fixed and other times not.”
