Western Australians aged 16-29 now eligible to receive Pfizer vaccine

Young Western Australians can now book to get their COVID-19 vaccination at State-run clinics.

For the first time in WA, people aged 16 to 29 are now eligible to receive a Pfizer jab.

The expansion comes as the State Government's two-week vaccination “blitz” begins which will see around 160,000 doses administered.

All WA residents aged 16 to 59 are now eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine.

People over 60 can continue to receive the AstraZeneca jab.

“I know many young people are very keen to get vaccinated and do their part to keep themselves, their families and their community safe," Premier Mark McGowan said.

“This is an important conversation for people to have with their families and I encourage parents and teens with any questions to look at the health advice on the rollup.wa.gov.au.”
