Whitehills Beach reopens to 4WDs

Four-wheel-drive access to Whitehills beach in Bouvard is now permitted.

The beach was closed at the end of January due to dangerous conditions as a result of beach erosion.

Part of the dune had been washed out by waves leaving no room for cars to drive on the 4WD track between the waterline and the dunes at high and low tides.

"Access to Whitehills beach is currently available however 4WD'ers & other beach goers are asked to exercise caution with the safety of beach access when visiting," a City of Mandurah spokesperson said.

"The beach width is varying considerably on a daily/ weekly basis, especially as we're coming into the Winter months.

"If you are planning on heading to Whitehills beach in the coming months, it's important to assess the risk levels associated with the high tides & erosion in the area."

The City of Mandurah will continue to monitor beach conditions.
