Stylists are coming to Mandurah this week, helping local women returning to work, starting a new job or just looking for a fresh start.
Not-for-profit, Dress for Success WA (DFSWA), is holding free 90-minute sessions at the Mandurah Family and Community Centre on Wednesday, August 6, supporting women with individual personal styling tips.
Participants get to take home two complete work-appropriate outfits including shoes, a handbag and accessories as well as advice on preparing for interviews, work placements or key life transitions.
CEO of Dress for Success WA, Natalie Sangalli said their visit to Mandurah provides life-changing support for local women.
"We've got a lot of women who are coming through who are escaping family violence, they might've spent time in prison and don't know where their skills are anymore, but quite overwhelmingly it's just women who have been out of the workforce for a long time and that just might be because they've been caring for kids or caring for other family members," she said.
"This work is about so much more than clothing—it’s about helping women see themselves differently, reclaim their confidence, and take that next step. Whether it’s preparing for a job interview, a return to work, or a fresh start after hardship, we are here to walk alongside them."
DFSWA has been visiting Mandurah once to twice a year since launching its Outreach program in the Peel region.
The 2025 visit aims to support 16 clients in one day, with referrals coming from a wide network of employment and community organisations.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the backing of our local partners in Mandurah,” Ms Sangalli said.
“Thanks to the City of Mandurah, WISE Employment and our host venue, we can ensure that local women—many facing barriers to employment—receive the same care and opportunity as women in metropolitan Perth.”
