A 27-year-old man is behind bars after he allegedly broke into a Dudley Park home and bashed the elderly resident while he slept.
The man is accused of entering the home on Leslie Street around 2am on Saturday morning, March 15 before allegedly assaulting the 75-year-old victim.
He allegedly fled with car and house keys.
The resident suffered a cut and bruising to his head.
It is understood the accused allegedly broke in or attempted to break into a number of homes along the same street shortly before the incident.
The man from Warnbro has been charged with trespass, four counts of stealing, home burglary and commit, aggravated home burglary and commit, aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm, threatening to kill and aggravated robbery.
He appeared in the Perth Magistrates Court on Sunday and was remanded in custody.
