Man charged after jumping from moving car while holding child in Greenfields

A 36-year-old man has been charged after allegedly jumping out of a moving vehicle while holding a child in Greenfields.

Police say a gold Nissan Pathfinder was travelling west on Gordon Road around 7.30pm on Saturday, May 17 when the man allegedly jumped out of the car with the child.

The child suffered minor injuries.

The man has since been charged with failing to protect a child from harm.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives are appealing for witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report details online via www.crimestopperswa.com.au

Anyone who may have dash-cam or mobile phone vision of the vehicle prior to the incident, on Lakes Road (Nambeelup), Lakes Road East and Gordon Road (Greenfields), between the intersections of Hopeland Road and Mandjoogoordap Drive, from 7pm to 7.30pm, can upload it directly to officers via this link: https://wapf.au.evidence.com/.../commu.../public/greenfields
