Mandurah Detectives have charged a 22-year-old man after he allegedly attacked another man with a pole, leaving him with a fractured skull.
On Friday July 9 around 12:40am, the 22-year-old victim was with a friend on the Mandurah Foreshore on Mandurah Terrace when he was approached by the accused who police say is known to him.
It is alleged the charged man struck the victim with a metal pole to the head, causing the victim to fall to the ground unconscious.
The victim was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for emergency surgery on his fractured skull.
The accused Lake Clifton man has been charged with grievous bodily harm and will appear before the Mandurah Magistrates Court on July 30.
