A neighbour has helped saved an elderly couple from their burning home in Wannanup.
Emergency services were called to the property on Batavia Avenue just before 4am on Saturday.
When they arrived the garage was fully engulfed and the fire had started spreading to the rest of the home.
Owner Brenton Taylor, 79, and his wife were inside at the time and only realised their house was on fire when neighbour Nick Dalgleish started banging on their door.
"The front of the house was on fire so I quickly got dressed and ran over and banged on the door and got them out," Mr Dalgleish told 9NEWS.
Mr Taylor said if it wasn't for him, they may not have survived.
"The garage was collapsing and flames were coming through the door," he told 9NEWS.
"We could've been incinerated."
Firefighters believe the cause of the fire was a faulty solar inverter in the garage.
The damage bill has been put at $400,000.
