Detectives have allegedly uncovered 5kg of methylamphetamine during a traffic stop in Baldivis.
On Sunday, July 17, detectives attached to Operation Kingston Alcatraz stopped a vehicle on Safety Bay Road.
During a search of the vehicle police allegedly found 5kg of methylamphetamine.
A 44-year-old South Australian man, who had flown into Perth from Adelaide earlier in the day, was arrested without incident.
A short time later search warrants were executed at residences in Wellard and Waikiki.
“It will be alleged $59,530 cash and approximately 1kg of methylamphetamine was located at the Waikiki residence,” a WA Police spokesperson said.
As part of the operation three men were arrested and charged with serious drug offences.
They were all refused bail to appear in court the following day.
Commissioner Col Blanch said WA Police Force will continue to aggressively target drug traffickers and their criminal networks who cause immeasurable harm in our community.
“While we have seized the drugs and cash from these established criminal networks our job is not yet done and we will continue to pursue the source of these drugs,” he said.
“Our detectives are working closely with their state and commonwealth law enforcement and intelligence partners to track down the source of these drugs, with a clear intent of bringing those involved in the drug trafficking syndicates to face justice here in Western Australia.”
