RSPCA WA is investigating a disturbing animal cruelty incident on a beach south of Mandurah.
A member of the public reported seeing two men and a dog in a ute run down a kangaroo on Preston Beach around 3am on Tuesday, September 9.
The men then allegedly cut off the kangaroo's tail, tied the animal up and dragged it into the ocean.
The kangaroo's body was found washed up on the beach later that morning.
