Secret Harbour Football Club player charged with assault following grand final clash with Halls Head

A Secret Harbour Football Club player has been charged with assault following a Year 11/12 grand final clash with Halls Head at Mandurah's Rushton Park on Sunday.

The Peel District Football Development Council league match, which was won by Halls Head, ended in an alleged fight between several players.

It's alleged the brawl was sparked by a Secret Harbour player punching a Halls Head player seconds before the final siren.

The alleged incident was captured on video.

Three players, all aged 17, were allegedly assaulted.

Two of them were taken to hospital for treatment. 

An 18-year-old Stake Hill man has been charged with aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm.

He will appear before the Mandurah Magistrates Court on September 30.

Inquiries are continuing into the incident and anyone with video footage is asked to upload it here. 

The West Australian Football Commission (WAFC) is now carrying out a full review of the match.

"The WAFC takes incidents like these seriously and will also work with the Western Australian Police as required," WAFC said in a statement.

"Violence of any sort is never accepted or tolerated in Western Australian football and the safety of players and spectators must be paramount.
