A smoke alert has been issued for Perth and the Peel region.
The smoke is due to a number of prescribed burns to the south-east and north of Perth along with a number of private property burns across the area.
"Smoke may drift back over the southern suburbs and Peel Region as winds shift, and may settle in low lying areas overnight as indicated from modelling from the Australian Smoke Dispersion System," the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions alert read.
"The smoke is expected to clear by mid-morning tomorrow."
Affected residents are being encouraged to shut doors and windows and turn off air-conditions.
Motorists should also take caution on the roads and turn on headlights.
