Ten high-rise apartment towers are set to be built in the heart of Rockingham.
The West Australian reports, developer Sirona Urban is behind the proposed $1 billion project which will see 1100 apartments built on 4.2 hectares of land across the road from the shopping centre.
The towers, which would be 11 to 15 storeys high and surrounded by vast parkland, will add more housing to the region ahead of the AUKUS pact which is set to bring up to 1200 US and UK personnel and their families to Perth.
The proposed project will be built in stages with stage one to include four towers with 415 build-to-rent apartments.
The following six towers will follow featuring units that will be sold privately, commercial office space, short-stay hotel rooms and shops.
The proposed project will need to be approved by the State Development Assessment Unit.
If approved, construction would begin late next year and finish by 2030.
